More Technogeek
Some more keywords: do-it-yourself, diy, d.i.y.,
Also: see comment to first post. 'This is a posted comment from my main computer under my user name ... I'm going to check out if Anonmouse ... alright 'anonymous' comments can be done. If you post a comment you may find that you have to sign up for an account (No charge (at this time) - but I can't guarantee that corporate America won't target you in some way ... part of the price we may have to pay to have a say ...' )
So far - I can't see option for anonymous posts. Signups for accounts should be a safe proposition ... and if you do want to post a comment, highlite the underlined comments text on the relevevant post ... any reply will be listed as a new post by me.
I look forward to this blog as being 'the' forum for our customers, our prospects; people with a passion for gardening, for their landscape, for nature, for living outdoors, for working on their business - not in it (like one of my business mentors Michael Gerber so clearly identifies with), and to the future. We have big plans for Prairie Scapes. You are a big part of them.

A bit of a test ... I sometimes hate being a technogeek ...
Just did some Google searches on the new blog w/o adequate 'hits'. Knowing a bit how keywords and text work with webcrawlers for websites and that updates to various search engines may not be instant - if at all - this post is to put in a few keywords that I would like to see associated to Prairie Scapes. I will check search engines in days to come to see if they trigger the 'hits' I would like to see. For now just some of the keywords: xeriscaping, prairie, landscape, landscapes, alberta, bowden, environment, design, designs, Len Kobewka, Fern Kobewka, Tamara Baer, do it yourself, central, professional, packages, permaculture, xeriscape

The Welcome Mat / Our Mission Statement
What a way to end a year ... A new blog! A blog for Prairie Scapes - our business that has taken over almost all my energies in the last couple of years ... and which has probably been a lifetime in the making ... and will consume much more of the passions I have to offer ... and the passions of many more people who come to believe in the business.
Prairie Scapes will define a way of living.
I won't keep this first entry too wordy as I've got a lot of other tasks to get at today. I will keep updating the blog - for its intended purpose ... a bit of a soapbox to tell about the business ... a bit of a journal to spill out some of my thoughts ... and importantly as a forum for you to express your thoughts and opinions about the business and the direction it is headed.
Firstly - Prairie Scapes is a vision that is quickly coming to be realized. I understand the importance of 'keeping an ear to the tracks' and helping the business to best serve its purpose. Its purpose - will become very ... very ... clear to all who read the blog. I will start out by stating our present mission statement: Prairie Scapes provides professional landscape designs. We offer alternatives that result in attractive and environmentally landscapes. Customer service is our goal. We meet the needs of our clients and provide a rewarding work environment to our employees.
Visit our web site at www.prairiescapes.ca to learn more. I've got to get back to some of the other tasks. I look forward to learning more about this 'blogging' world and to hearing from you about thoughts - ideas - opinion.
Please do leave a comment. I will edit out only those which are detrimental to all who read this. I may tend to have disagreement with some of the thoughts - but will state so in posted replies - and may change my lines of thought with your inputs. Thanks for checking out the blog.
And as a signoff - (a line I often use with those I feel a very close allegiance to) -
Carpe Diem, Len

Your Yard - For You, Your Family and Your Friends
Last year residential architecture firms reported that upscale landscaping is on the increase, as is the popularity of outdoor living space such as decks, porches, patios and small courtyards. "When you extend your living space outside, suddenly you have so much more space for living in general," says Michelle Kodis, author of "Ultimate Backyard." And comfort isn't the only benefit, Kodis writes. "If you want to raise the value of your home, start thinking about ways to add structural interest and comfort to your backyard, patio, deck, side yard ".
A professionally done design adds the most value; or you may choose to seek the advice of an expert. The reasons for developing your yard are numerous. Why go anywhere else?
• The cost of gas will be $??
• The roads there may have their own kind of RAGE.
* 2 hr. landscape design consultations from $165 (includes free Landscaping 1-2-3 Book valued at $40)
